These are two perfect words to describe who God is and what He has done in and through the lives of the sibling duo, TraVet. The melodic tenor emanates from Travis Paul Pearson, whose voice was nearly silenced by inexplicable seizures he experienced as an infant. Yvette E. Pearson plays the piano and keyboard accompaniments with one hand and one thumb; she has cerebral palsy and cannot open her right hand. Natives of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metropolitan areas, the two have served in music ministry together for many of the past thirty years - Travis on drums, Yvette on keys, and both sharing vocal and directing roles.
When asked why "this" project, and why now, Travis responded, "Because it's our calling." They have both been very successful in their careers for over two decades - Travis is a barber with numerous celebrity clientele and Yvette is an engineering professor and administrator. "But there was still something missing," Yvette added. "God spoke, and though we have encountered many obstacles, He has enabled us to overcome them all. God is so amazing!" The two agree, "It's just time; no more excuses." Jokingly, they added that the consistent nudging
from their mother, Geraldine Jackson, didn't hurt!
“So Amazing” was the first single from TraVet's 2017 debut project by the same title. The highly anticipated EP includes the upbeat track "He Is", a jazzy instrumental, "Inspired" (which features Yvette on trombone), a love song to the Lord, “More Than Words Can Say”, and the soulful spiritual ballad, "On and On". With something for everyone, TraVet creates music for the mind, body, and spirit.
